Church vs. Ancient Ways

   Greetings Everyone,

    This letter is in relation to the activities taking place in Yuba City,
    California between the church of Glad tidings and the Ancient Ways store.

    We have just got off of the phone with the owners of the Acient Ways store,
    and I would like to pass along the just of our conversation.

    At this time, it is felt that it is best to leave the subject alone for the
    next few weeks.  Ancient ways has hired an attorney who has stated that
    they have an excellent case for court, should they pursue the matter.  This
    could be one reason that the boycott was called off.

    At this juncture....it may do more harm than good to provoke the church
    further.  The case would be touchy as is, and one wrong word by "our side"
    may make matters worse.

    Back ground information - The Church of Glad Tidings are extremists...if
    you cannot tell already.  :>    They recently broke from another church
    because of their extreme measures.  There have been death threats raised
    towards Ancient Ways and their customers.  There has also been burnings of
    a Muslin temple and a few gay houses......this cannot be connected to Glad
    Tidings, but.....

    Members of the church are running for public office, on the platform of
    removing anything non-Christian from the community....including book stores
    that carry romance novels.

    The owners of Anciant Ways believe that the church has gone so extreme that
    they are losing many members and have very little power in the community at
    this point.

    As for the newspaper...the Appeal Democrat....They recently ran a VERY
    favorable interview they had with a Wiccan in Yuba City.

    In the end.....The Church of Glad Tidings is digging themselves into a whole.

    As being "owner" of Whispered Prayers and Universe of Magick, I have passed
    along future support to Ancient Ways directly.  I am in contact with
    popular Wiccan authors, Magical Blend Magazine, and others.  Should it come
    to it, we will offer a "What are Earth Religions" seminar by these people
    in the town of Chico, California.  These seminars will be geared toward
    public officials and the general public, and will be promoted by a full
    page ad (non-derogatory) in the Yuba City Newspaper....The Appeal Democrat.

    At the request of the owners of the Ancient Ways store, The owners of the
    Whispered Prayers store, the council members of the Universe of Magick, and
    others....we ask that everyone keep an eye on the matter, but do NOTHING at
    the current time.  These people are extremests....if provoked there may be
    death.  This is not an exageration.

    Should it ever come time to place a POSITIVE ad in the Appeal Democrate, I
    will post this information of the Universe of Magick web site.  Anyone that
    would like to place their own ad at the same time, or help to support the
    ad we write is more that welcome to do so, but PLEASE WAIT until it is
    actually deemed necessary.  To place it at this time may negatively affect
    any kind of court case that may come into existance.
